D78 is the engineered wood entrance door we recommend for new builds and major renovations. The 78mm triple-layered laminated wood profile, the 3 Q-lon gaskets, and the Roto DoorSafe hardware with 5 locking points (or KFV with automatic safety locking) form a system that simultaneously meets the three practical requirements of any homeowner: it provides proper insulation, looks great, and remains trouble-free over time.

With standard triple glazing Ug 0.6 W/m²K, the overall Ud is 0.90 W/m²K - comfortably below the nZEB threshold, without requiring special configurations. Every door is custom-made in any size and configuration: single or double leaf, glazed or solid panel, in spruce or pine as standard, with other species on request.

Glazing - double or triple

Triple glazing 40 mm (standard) - Ug 0.6 W/m²K, overall Ud 0.90 W/m²K. The correct choice for new builds, nZEB requirements, and any situation where thermal and acoustic performance is a priority.

Double glazing 26 mm (optional) - Ug 1.0-1.1 W/m²K. Available for renovations where the existing opening does not allow for the depth required for triple glazing, or for projects with a specific budget and more relaxed energy requirements.

Glazing 44 mm - on request, for special configurations with acoustic or burglar-resistant glass that require thicker units.

Key thermal comparison:

D78 vs D68 – Profile difference of only 10 mm results in a 30% thermal improvement (Ud 0.90 vs 1.28), meaning lower heat loss over the entire service life of the door.
D78 vs D92 – D92 offers Ud 0.73 and RC3 security, justified for Passivhaus or explicit higher-security requirements. For a standard nZEB home, D78 is sufficient.

Q-lon gaskets - 3 rows

Each gasket is a separate layer that blocks the infiltration of cold air, moisture, and noise. The polyurethane foam core does not stiffen at sub-zero temperatures - the door seals just as tightly at -15°C as it does at +20°C. The polyethylene cladding resists UV rays and pollution without visible degradation.

Gaskets are available in brown, white, black, and grey - chosen to harmonise with the finish colour.

It does not make sense when

The existing old-frame opening does not allow 78 mm depth - D68 solves the situation
The performance requirement is Ud below 0.80 W/m2K - D92 at Ud 0.73
The security requirement is RC3 - D92 is the only series in the range that can be equipped to RC3

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Ud 0.90 W/m²K with triple glazing Ug 0.6 falls below the nZEB threshold for external doors. The actual value depends on the door size and glazing configuration - we can provide data for energy calculations on request.

Three gaskets mean three separate layers for blocking air and moisture. In the D68 (2 gaskets), draught effects at the base of the door and in corners occur more frequently at low temperatures. In the D78 (3 Q-lon gaskets), the contact pressure on the seal is higher and more uniform across the entire perimeter.

Yes. 26 mm double glazing (4/18/4, Ug 1.0-1.1) is available - often used in renovations where the opening does not allow for the depth required for triple glazing. The overall Ud increases compared to 0.90; the exact value depends on the configuration.

Meranti or larch, available on request - species with natural moisture resistance superior to spruce. If the door has an overhang or protection, spruce works perfectly with the correct finish.

Yes. D78 can be equipped with an electronic lock (motorized lock) controlled via remote or app and/or with an integrated fingerprint reader. The strike plate with a day/night device allows for additional internal mechanical locking beyond the standard hardware.
